Florida MOTO News visited Dade City Mx this past weekend to continue coverage of the 2013 FL/GA EverRev Fall Classic. The November 17th race was the fourth round of this action-packed series, and racers from throughout Florida made their way to Dade City to take part in the Fall Classic's racing fun. Once again, Florida Trail Riders motocross racers lined up at the gate alongside the FL/GA series racers to join in on the excitement and earn points as MX #4 in their FTR series. Riders enjoyed great weather all weekend, and even got to experience the new clay extended track which incuded a great whoop section. The 50cc 4-6 and 7-9 riders were the first race of the day, with Christopher Achatz (KTM #124) getting a great start and winning the 7-9 class. Zane Spires (KTM #108) would finish in second place, and Trenton Mcclain (KTM #715) in third.
In the Super Mini 12-15 class, Perry Warren (KAW #3) took the win, ahead of the #55 Honda of Justin Maloy and the #715 Suzuki of Aaron Matzelle. Warren was also the winner in the 105-250cc 12-15 class. Jack Kinney would be victorious in the Junior Mini 9-13 class, finishing ahead of Jack Chambers (KTM #102) and Trevor Mason (KAW #192). Kinney also won the 85cc 10-11 class. Jack Chambers and Darek Pixton (SUZ #19) finished second and third respectively.
Aspen Boothby took the win in the 65 Open Class on his #34 KTM, with Jared Cannon and Jessica Jeffery finishing in second and third. Boothby would race Cannon again in the 65cc 7-9 class, and take the win again. In the 65 Beginner class, it was Nate Carr (KAW #711) who would take the win ahead of Joshua Van Wyk (KAW #17), Austin Mcafee (KTM #379). The 65cc 10-11 class winner was Rowdy Houston (KAW #155).
Motocross is truly a family sport, but especially so for some. Russell Heggan Sr. and Russell Heggan Jr. (Rusty) both race! FLMN caught a pic of father and son on the gate at the Dade City race. Russell Heggan Sr. is competing in the Vet C class, and son Rusty is racing in both the MX C and Lites C classes. Mom helps the guys out in the pits and at the gate, and cheers her guys on while they race. Now that's family participation!
Fisher Houston (KAW #56) was able to pull off a win in the 85 Beginner class, even after having a nasty crash in the 65cc 7-9 class earlier in the day. In the 85cc 12-15 class, Dominick Tinari (KAW #31) finished first, ahead of Hunter Blackledge (KTM #34) and Bryce Platt (HON #14).
Team Beck's Tech Racing teammates Timmy Shepherd (KAW #38) and Danny Diciaccio (YAM #515) lined up alongside each other on the gate for the MX C class. Both riders would ride well, but it was Shepherd who would take the win. Second Place would go to Austin Fer (KAW #181), and third place to Danny Diciaccio. Shepherd and Diciaccio would race again in the Lites C class, again finishing first and third, with Timmy taking the win. Second place would go to Eric Martin (HON #163). Shepherd also won the Open Am No A class, and would be undefeated in every moto of the three classes he raced.
Racers will head next to Bostwick Creek Mx Park for the final round of the Fall Classic on December 1st. For FGSC series dates, information, and full race results, visit www.flgaracing.com. Don't forget to check out the FLMN GALLERY to view more photos from the race!
