CLICK PHOTOS TO ENLARGEThe FGSC racing action returned home this past weekend, as riders continued the battles for the championship at Bostwick Creek Mx Park! Racers arrived at Round #5 with some serious work to do, as points for the championship win were seriously close in NINE classes! There was certainly no room for mistakes, and riders would have to give it their all to stay ahead of their competition. In the Lites C class, Jordan Fuguet (KAW #49) and Connor Fortune (#185) arrived at round #5 separated by only only point. Bike troubles headed into Round #5 left Fortune forced to ride on borrowed equipment. Fortune rode well, but a fourth place overall finish would not be enough to keep the championship lead. The Bostwick round would instead be a good one for Fuguet, who's 1-1 finishes gave him the day's win, and the championship points lead.
The racing action in the 105-250cc 12-15 class will continue down to the final round! The Bostwick round would not be the deciding race for Hunter Blackledge (KTM #34) and Cj Rosa (KTM #121), who continue to be separated by only one point as they head to the final round at Waldo Motorsports. Who will win the championship?
The points battle in the Plus 45 and 50 classes was between Mark Osteen (KAW #80) and David Smith (KTM #111). The two were tied in the Plus 50 class, and separated by only a few points in the Plus 45 class. After Round #5, Osteen still holds the Plus 45 lead, but only by ONE point. Osteen finished ahead of Smith in the Plus 50 class, and the two will head to the final round separated by only two points.
The 65cc Open and 65cc 10-11 classes were also full of intense racing action. The points battle in each class belonged to riders Jared Cannon (KTM #171) and Colin Dellarco (KTM #87). The two were tied in the 65cc Open class, and separated by only three points in the 65cc 10-11 class. Troubles for Cannon left him with a DNF in moto one of the 65cc Open class, and a DNS in the second moto of the 65cc 10-11 class. It was a good day of racing for Dellarco, who took the win in both classes. Dellarco will enter the final round of the series with a comfortable points lead, and on his way to a championship win in two classes. The 65cc Beginner class also had a points battle going on, between Mathew White (KAW #999) and Rydar Chittum (KAW #381). Chittum had trouble in moto one, and his DNF-3 moto scores would not be enough to catch White. White finished with 2-2 moto scores, giving him a comfortable points lead headed to the last round.
50cc Open riders Braxton Burnsed (KTM #44) and Chase Matott (KTM #57) were tied in the points, but Matott took the win at Bostwick. The win gives Matott a comfortable points lead, and likely the championship. In the 50cc 4-6 class, the points battle was between Brayden Ford (COB #54) and Calen Myers (KTM #73). Each rode well at Round #5, but Ford would stay consistent and take the win in both motos. Ford now enjoys a comfortable lead in the points as he heads to the final round of the 2015 FL/GA Spring Championship.
It's not over 'til it's over, and although many riders will enter the final round with a comfortable points lead, anything could still happen. FGSC racers will head to Waldo Motorsports for the final round of the 2015 FL/GA Spring Championship on June 7, 2015.
