The Sunshine State Vintage Motocross Club visited Tampa MX on January 25th, and both riders and spectators were in for a treat. These vintage guys know how to have some old-style moto fun! If you're looking for a great time experiencing moto with your family, this is a great series to check out. No vintage bike? No problem! Sunshine State Vintage Motocross Club even has modern bike classes, and plenty of fast guys on modern bikes to battle with too.
Don't let the old bikes fool you, these old bikes can still haul tail! The day of racing included more close racing and aggressive battles than Florida MOTO News has witnessed in many modern bike races. This was the kind of racing that gets spectators fired up! Two or three wide over a jump, near take-outs in the corners, bar bangin' close battles... this was racing!
The Tamp MX track, formerly known as East Bay Motocross, was in great shape. The track's black dirt/clay mix soil makes for an excellent racing surface. Social media has been a-buzz lately with positive reviews of the Tampa MX facility. SSVMX riders seemed to enjoy it also, as they charged hard and made riding their vintage machines look easy.
