Florida MOTO News made the trip to Jacksonville recently to take part in the racing action in the 2014 Florida Gold Cup at WW Ranch Mx Park! Riders spoke of the awesome track and facility conditions, the Saturday night festivities, and the very generous BBQ provided by the Scarborough family. Sunday morning arrived with beautiful weather, and racers were excited to begin the day of racing. First though, a prayer and the national anthem, followed by fireworks! The pits were full of conversation about the fireworks, and all expressed appreciation for such effort being put into the display of honour for our country and it's soldiers.

The Florida Gold Cup Series is one of the premier amateur motocross series in Florida. The Unlimited Sports Mx event was certainly a big one, with over 500 entries! Always full of tough competition, this year's event was again full of talent. Adrian Aguero (YAM #177) showed great speed, taking the win in both the Schoolboy 1 and Schoolboy 2 classes, beating some of Florida's fastest young riders. Also the topic of discussion amongst many in the pits was the fast, smooth riding style of Tristan Lane (KAW #11), who used his speed and skill to take the win with 1-1 moto scores in both the Collegeboy 16-24 class, and the 450B class.

Racing action in the little bike classes was a sight to see, with riders giving it their all, and sending their little bikes soaring over some of WW's biggest obstacles. Matthew Leblanc (KTM #4) would dominate the 65cc classes, winning every moto, and going home with the win in both the 65cc 7-9 class, and the 65cc 7-11 class.
