Florida MOTO News visited Dade City Motocross this past weekend to check out all the great racing going on at the 2017 FL/GA Spring Championship & Florida Series combined race. This race marked the third round of 2017 racing for each series, and riders continue to show up in BIG numbers! Races at Dade City Motocross usually attract some of Florida's fastest, and this weekend's race was a good example. Racers had their work cut out for them, and would have to ride their best to stay ahead of their competition. Many classes already have some close points battles going on, which should make for an exciting race season!
Some riders, however, seem to dominate in every moto they race. Yamaha rider Keith Oelerich (#58), is one such rider, taking the win with 1-1 moto scores in the Plus 40, Plus 50, and Plus 45 classes. Nate Ingram (KTM #50) would again finish 1-1 in the Vet C/Novice class, doing so at two of the three rounds thus far. In the 450 B and 250 B classes, it was Brock Papi (SUZ #14) who took the win in every moto, followed by Cole Harley (HON #100). In the Open Money and 450 A classes, the 1-1 moto scores belonged to Miguel Cordovez (KTM #909).
The smaller bike classes had their dominant riders too. Trace Palmer (KTM #235) would win every moto of the 65cc (6-9), 50cc OPEN (4-6), and 50cc (7-9) classes. Another young rider, Nathan Jeffery (KTM #51), won every moto in the 85cc (9-11), 65cc (6-11), and 65cc (10-11) classes. Jessica Jeffery (KTM #121) is currently undefeated so far this season, taking the win in every moto of every round! The Jeffery kids have been working hard with trainer Dean Dyess, and the results are certainly evident!
2017 will surely be full of a ton of racing excitement, and Florida MOTO News will be there to both race, and report on, as much of it as possible!
