Florida MOTO News visited Dade City Motocross this past weekend for another round of intense racing in the 2016 FL/GA Spring Championship & Florida Series Combined Racing. Already offering big gates of tough competition, the combined series racing was sure to bring in even more great racing at Dade City Motocross. Known for attracting some fast competition, the Dade City track was sure to provide a great racing opportunity for Florida's motocrossers. As some of Florida's most talented riders prepare for the upcoming Loretta Lynn's Southeast Regional, the Dade City race was a great opportunity for these riders to feel out some of their competitors before lining up against them again at the Regional. For those riders competing for a championship win in the FL/GA Spring Championship, or the Florida Motocross Series, the Dade City race was an opportunity to gain valuable points towards that goal.
This round of racing saw an impressive amount of 85cc racers, and the young riders put on a great show for spectators as they battled intensely around the Dade City track. Matti Jorgensen (KTM #4) would take the win in the 85cc (9-11) class, with 2-1 moto scores. Jordan Renfro (KTM #107), who took the win in the first moto, would finish the day with second overall, with 1-4 moto scores. Jacquel Gonzalez (KAW #123) would finish third overall, with 4-2 moto scores.
In the 85cc 12-14 class, Jack Chambers (KTM #102) would be the victor, finishing ahead of Cole Bradford (HSK #27) and Gage Gongas (KTM #546). Chambers and Bradford would battle again in the Super Mini (10-15) class, where Chambers would again be the victor. Chambers would race yet again in the 85cc Jr Mini (9-13) class, where he would again take the win, ahead of Jordan Renfro (KTM #107) and Jack Kinney (KTM #100).
The 2016 FL/GA Spring Championship & Florida Series combined racing will head next to Waldo Motorsports on June 5th. Only two rounds remain in the 2016 FL/GA Spring Championship, and racers will surely be charging hard to earn every point they can towards the championship in that series.
